Research interests: Gene regulation with multimodal integration

What excites me about my research is that: It's great to learn both biology and AI at the same time, exploring gene regulation with multimodal integration in the context of DNA, RNA, and other landscapes! What's more exciting is you have to keep yourself updated about the newest technology in order not to fall behind. It might sound intimidating, but it’s also rewarding.

I chose to pursue a PhD because I love the thrill of discovery. Uncovering something interesting through my research brings great satisfaction!

Most challenging part of doing a PhD is definitely accepting that this process takes time and effort. Negative results are results - as long as you can learn from them!

My favorite thing about my graduate program is how interdisciplinary and flexible our program is. It's very common that you find a biologist working with a statistician and computer scientist on a variety of projects! I've learned a lot from everyone here!

After my PhD, I want to try going into the biotech industry. I also enjoy talking about science, so maybe also a science lecturer/teacher!

Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, walking around the neighborhood, and going out on the weekend.
