Biography

Hometown: New Rochelle, New York

Advisors: Erica Larschan and Ritambhara Singh

Research Interests:  Aging, genetics, genomics, epigenetics, single-cell transcriptomics, deep learning, explainable AI, sex differences in aging and age-associated disease

What excites me about my research is that I am passionate about the social impacts of my work. Females have been critically understudied in biological and biomedical sciences. There are stark sex differences in aging and longevity across animal species, including humans!

I decided to do a PhD because I love getting paid to be a nerd! I can design and execute my own projects, explore my nichest interests, all under the guidance of experts.

The most challenging part of my work is dealing with failed experiments and negative results.

My favorite thing about my graduate program is that I met my best friend in this program! I was in her wedding and we have shared albums of each others' cats (hundreds of gigabytes worth...).

After my PhD, I would love to teach at the college level and work in a job that allows me to continue doing research.

Outside of work, I like doing hot yoga, watching baseball, playing Stardew Valley, reading books, crafting, and hanging out with my cat!

Highlighted work:

TimeFlies: an snRNA-seq aging clock for the fruit fly head sheds light on sex-biased aging
